To this end indicators have been developed to measure the participation of parents in the education systems in Europe. This tool can help public authorities in orienting policy and, therefore, in managing education systems.<\/p><p>To avoid any controversy about the concept of participation, the consortium adopted an<strong> approach to education based on human rights<\/strong> both in the development of indicators, as well as in the design of the research methodology and data processing.<\/p><p>In the selection of indicators two studies conducted by<em> Eurydice (1997 and 2004)<\/em> have been used as a reference.
